Sunrise Mount Rainier Maternity Session

Lauren + Josh’s sunrise Mount Rainier maternity session!

This lovely couple first became my clients when Chris and I worked on their Lake Tapps wedding in 2021. Back then, Chris was still doing videography, and shooting Lauren and Josh’s wedding together was tons of fun. After fighting it out in the rain on their wedding day, the four of us really bonded. So, I felt incredibly honored when Lauren asked me to do their maternity photos.

When I work with couples on their wedding days, I always hope to create a meaningful, ongoing connection. Your big day is so much more than just another job for me. So, naturally, I want to know all about where your love story takes you next. I love being part of your big life moments and capturing them like a continuing story I get to tell.

It’s always such a privilege to work with my couples again and again as their families grow. And that was especially true of this sunrise Mount Rainier maternity session. I love that I got to be part of documenting another huge moment in Lauren and Josh’s life together!

And, of course, I had to bring Chris to this session since he and Josh formed a little bromance at the wedding. I didn’t tell Lauren and Josh that Chris was coming with me. And it actually turned out that Josh had been asking Lauren if Chris could be at the shoot, too, but she never remembered to ask me about it. So, as you can probably imagine, Josh was very happy to see Chris that morning. It was honestly the sweetest thing ever.

We shot on the Sunrise side of Mount Rainier at sunrise, which is probably my number one favorite time and place to shoot. The light there is always so beautiful. Plus, how the sunrise hits the mountain creates the most insane colors. Lauren’s first outfit for the shoot was this beautiful orange color that perfectly tied in with the stunning pinks and oranges in the background.

I shot both film and digital for this sunrise Mount Rainier maternity session. Overall, the film shots turned out amazingly. These photos add so much more nostalgia to the final gallery. This baby is already so loved, and Lauren is a beautiful mama-to-be. Now, I can’t wait for the next time I get to photograph Josh, Lauren, and their new little one as their lifelong love story continues.
