Kaiya + Drew’s Santorini Greece elopement!
I don’t think I’ll ever get over how amazing it was to work on this couple’s unforgettable Greek elopement. My friend Mimi did an incredible job planning this elopement and bringing this vision to life. And I even got to lend a hand with the planning by helping Kaiya and Drew choose their Airbnb. It was a truly fantastic experience.
The day began with a luxurious Santorini sailing cruise. I went with the bride and groom to capture some photos out on the water. Chris traveled with me, so Kaiya and Drew kindly invited him to join us as well. After enjoying the morning on the ocean, we all went back to our own accommodations to get ready.
Then, later in the day, Chris and I met the bride and groom at their Airbnb in Oia for their Santorini Greece elopement. Drew greeted us with some baklava from a nearby shop that he’d told us about earlier in the day while we were on the boat. It was so good!
I started with detail photos of the tablescape, florals, flat lay, and bridal accessories. Then, I captured some getting-ready shots before heading outside for the first look, vow exchange, and dinner. Cats roam all over the island of Santorini, and an adorable kitten wedding-crasher joined us while we ate!
Following dinner, we wandered the streets of Oia, looking for the perfect spot for bridal photos. Between this gorgeous couple, the whitewashed walls, carved steps, arched rooftops, and sea views, we got some of my favorite images I’ve captured to date. And we all had so much fun exploring the town! Chris and Drew continued to bond, just like they have throughout my entire time working with this couple. It’s always so cool when true friendships grow as I work with couples again and again!
After sunset, we made our way back to the Airbnb for cake-cutting and unique wedding toasts. Kaiya and Drew had their friends and family pre-record their toasts and well-wishes on video. Then, as they watched the videos during their Santorini Greece elopement, the couple drank champagne from glasses tagged with each of their loved one’s names. It was so sweet and personal.
Finally, Kaiya and Drew ended the night with a romantic first dance filled with organic laughter and authentic joy. I was so privileged to capture this incredible evening for a fantastic couple. I was also honored to have this elopement featured in Vogue!
