Lake Tapps Washington Wedding

Lauren + Josh’s Lake Tapps Washington wedding!

Lauren and Josh are a super fun and loving couple. Even though nothing went according to plan for their wedding day, they still made the most of it and had a beautiful celebration.

The venue for this one was actually Lauren’s grandparent’s home. It was very personal and meaningful for Lauren to get married there. And, as a bonus, the property is right on Lake Tapps, which made for some beautiful photos. Lauren’s grandparents were super nice and extremely gracious hosts. They even invited Chris and I to come in and sit down when we first arrived, but we had to get straight to work!

The day started with the bridal party taking turns getting ready in the rec room. Then, I went out and got some of the pre-wedding shots. They had so many pretty details everywhere. From the wicker chandeliers and Edison string lights in the tent, to the custom signage, to the beautiful neutral florals, everything was so well thought out and put-together.

The original plan for this Lake Tapps wedding was to have the ceremony outside and then the reception under the tent, but it rained all day, so plans had to change. They ended up moving the ceremony under the tent. Meanwhile, we did a first look with Lauren and Josh and got any photos we could when there was a brief sun-break. Luckily, Josh had made a really cool, big photo backdrop for the reception, so we got to do a lot of photos with that in the tent, too.

The reception was very lively and fun even as it was dumping rain outside. Lauren changed into a shorter dress and sneakers for the reception. Which ended up being a great choice since the reception ultimately became a giant dance party! At the end of the night, we all went out and did flash photos in the rain with a champagne pop and their classic getaway car.

These two were such good sports even with all the rain. Lauren’s dress got totally soaked during pictures, but she didn’t care. After all the craziness Chris and I went through with them at their Lake Tapps Washington wedding, Lauren and Josh feel like friends of ours. It was also really fun with working with all the other vendors for the wedding. Even though this was my second wedding of the weekend, and it was a bit insane, I had so much fun! We were so dead by the end of the day, but it was so worth it.
