Rowena Crest Spring Bridals

Cierra + Josiah’s Rowena Crest spring bridals!

This session was a beautiful, springtime, styled bridal shoot at Rowena Crest Viewpoint in Oregon. My sessions typically focus on showcasing my clients and helping them realize their vision for the final photos. However, this styled shoot was all about bringing my own vision to life and showcasing what I do best! I carefully curated everything from the location to the dress and florals. I love to capture whimsical, romantic, timeless memories for the couples I work with. So, I wanted this photoshoot to have as much of that aesthetic as possible.

One of the most important aspects of the look I was going for was the location. When I first came across this spot years ago, I fell in love with it! The way the cliffs look out over the gorge reminds me so much of the bluffs in Ireland. It was spring when I previously visited Rowena Crest, and the whole area was lush and green with wildflowers blooming everywhere. So, I scheduled this shoot at the same time of year to make sure we got the full effect I was after. It was a six-hour drive, roundtrip, for the session, but so worth it!

On my way down to the shoot, I stopped to pick up the flowers from Kirsta at Fleurie & Co. Florals. I met Kirsta a few years ago on another shoot, and she is amazing at what she does! Her style is always very light and whimsical, which is exactly why I chose to work with her on this session.

After getting the flowers, I picked up the dress my model, Cierra, would be wearing from A&Bé Bridal Shop in Portland. I made sure to choose a dress that matched the overall style of the shoot. This gown particularly stood out to me because of all the pretty details on the bodice and sleeves.

The last really important pieces of this shoot were the models, Cierra and Josiah. Cierra had her hair and makeup done to my specifications before they arrived at for the shoot. I remembered it being pretty windy the last time I was at this location, so I wanted her hair in a low, messy bun to keep it mostly out of the way. Then we went with a pretty natural look for her makeup.

Married, with a little one at home, Cierra and Josiah had previous experience modeling for sessions like this one. Which was good, because it was a cold and windy day to shoot but these two still managed to model like champs! They are both very kind and sweet. In the end, we all had a lot of fun wandering around those gorgeous cliffs together for their Rowena Crest spring bridals!
