Modern Seattle Sodo Wedding

Chloe + Nick’s modern Seattle Sodo wedding!

From the beginning, this couple fully embraced modern, industrial vibes for their big day. First, everyone got ready at a Seattle hotel with beautiful modern décor. I started the day with the flat-lay photos of Chloe and Nick’s beautiful paper goods. Then, I snapped a few pictures of the bride and her bridesmaids before taking some getting-ready photos of the groom.

I then captured some sweet moments between Nick and his mom as she gave him a wedding present and prayed with him. After I finished up with Nick, I popped over to Chloe’s room for the rest of her getting-ready photos. We did a first look with her bridesmaids once her gown was on, and the girls’ reactions were priceless! She was a stunning bride.

This couple decided to add a roll of film to their modern Seattle Sodo wedding photography package. So, I got to work in both film and digital throughout the day. I offer film as an add-on for all my wedding packages, and I love the timelessness and nostalgia it adds to any shoot. With digital, it is so easy to rush and overshoot. But with film, you really have to slow down and be intentional about what you are capturing. So, I always love when I get to work with film!

Once we got to the venue, I took more details shots. The hanging lights were beautiful. And the modern signage decor and neutral florals added even more contemporary elegance. Sodo Park is such a stunning venue, and it was really the perfect setting for this modern Seattle Sodo wedding.

I did all the groomsmen photos before the ceremony. Then, we did a first touch and first prayer outside with the bride and groom, but they opted not to do a first look. So, when Nick first saw Chloe walking down the aisle, his expression was everything! Then, after the ceremony, we got the rest of the bridal party photos, including the bridesmaid photos and Chloe and Nick’s bridal portraits. We did all of these outside so we could get the full industrial city look.

The reception for this modern Seattle Sodo wedding was a lot of fun. The couple had cakes from DERU, and then they also had cookies for a late-night snack. Nick and Chloe danced the night away with family and friends before they closed down the party with a private last dance. Then, they headed outside for their beautiful sparkler exit. It was the perfect way to end a wedding day to remember!
