Cannon Beach Oregon Engagement Session

Valerie + Joon’s Cannon Beach Oregon engagement session!

While I end up finding a way to connect with every couple I work with, there are some couples who I just instantly get along with. That’s the way it was with Valerie and Joon. This couple is so kind and super fun to be around. We all clicked effortlessly, which made this Cannon Beach Oregon engagement session one of my favorites so far!

It was a long drive down to Cannon Beach for all of us. We spent over three hours on the road to get there, but the trip was honestly so worth it! This beach is absolutely stunning. Cannon beach is a gorgeous PWN location for coastal sessions. From the iconic rock formations to the long, smooth, sandy beaches to the beautiful fields of beachgrass, everything here is picture-perfect.

I have shot here multiple times over the years, and it’s always the perfect backdrop for timeless photos. This location is excellent for couple sessions and engagement shoots like this Cannon Beach Oregon engagement session. It’s also a beautiful spot for destination elopements like Christina and Nathan’s intimate coastal ceremony

Typically, the beach is super busy in the evenings, but for Valerie and Joon’s session, we got really lucky and found things surprisingly calm. The temperature was just right, the wind wasn’t crazy, and the sky was clear. Overall, it was a perfect day for a coastal session.

Like most of my engagement session couples, Valerie and Joon chose two different outfits for their shoot. First, they started with dressier, mostly white looks that worked so perfectly with the setting sunlight. They stayed in these first outfits all through golden hour, and we captured some beautifully romantic photos right from the start.

Then, Valerie and Joon finished their Cannon Beach Oregon engagement session with more casual outfits for the twilight portion of the shoot. We took some photos in the beachgrass fields before moving down to the beach. I had them literally running up and down the beach, getting wet, and laughing non-stop. The final edits from this part of the shoot are really playful and authentic.

All in all, I had such a great time working on this stunning coastal shoot! I love how each part of this session has a different feel. From the romantic golden hour to the playful twilight to the nostalgic blurry photos at the end, Valerie and Joon’s final gallery turned out beautifully.
