An adventurous Oahu Hawaii elopement shoot!
Even though it turned out beautifully, this styled elopement shoot in Oahu, Hawaii, almost didn’t happen. When I initially booked this trip to visit my grandma, I also planned to put together a styled bridal shoot while I was there. I wanted to expand my Hawaii portfolio so I could hopefully book more sessions here in the future. I love shooting here, and I always appreciate a chance to visit my grandma!
But plans started to change when my friend Taylor of Honest Calligraphy contacted me about her cousin’s wedding. Paris and Armani’s Oahu wedding was scheduled for right before I was already supposed to be in Hawaii, so I moved some things around and made it work! I love working with Taylor and her mom Penny, owner of Pennies Events, so it was so worth it.
Then, Taylor and Penny saved the day when my original styled shoot plans fell through! We put together this adventurous Oahu Hawaii elopement shoot somewhat last minute. And we made it happen while we were all still on the island for Paris and Armani’s wedding. Collaborating with this mother-daughter duo on a styled shoot was so much fun, especially since I’d just shot their family wedding.
The romantic, flowy bridal gown and high bridal bun were my leading inspirations for this shoot’s mood board. So, I flew in with both the gown and the candles from De Baec candles. The sleeves on this dress and the way it moves are so gorgeous. I also wanted to shoot somewhere with these stunning mountains in the background, so this location was everything I imagined!
All in all, I love the way this shoot turned out. The timeless and understated table design was perfect. The beautiful couple who modeled for us live on the island and were so much fun to work with. Now, I can’t wait for my next Hawaiian couple session!
