Oahu Hawaii Wedding

Paris + Armani’s Oahu Hawaii wedding!

This was a really special one for me to work on. Before I even heard about Paris and Armani’s wedding, I already had a trip to Oahu booked. I was just planning to go for fun and visit family until my friend Taylor, owner of the minimalistic hand lettering and design company Honest Calligraphy, reached out to me about her cousin’s wedding. Taylor and her mom were planning Paris and Armani’s Oahu Hawaii wedding for the day before I was already supposed to arrive on the island, and they wanted to know if I would photograph the wedding.

I have worked with Taylor many times and love her calligraphy designs. I’d also met Taylor’s mom, Penny, before, but until we started discussing this wedding, I never connected that they were related. Penny owns and operates the wedding planning service Pennies Events. So, we first met when we were both working as vendors on Chloe and Keaton’s Orting Manor wedding. Both Taylor and Penny are fantastic businesswomen, and it’s always a joy to work with them. So, I knew I had to find a way to fit this Oahu Hawaii wedding into my trip!

After talking details with Taylor and Penny, I managed to move my flight and adjust my Airbnb booking to make it work. I was so excited! When I spoke with Paris and Armani, they told me that they really wanted photos on the beach. But, since the ceremony and reception were taking place on the military base, there wouldn’t be time to get to the beach and back for their bridal portraits. So, we decided to do a pre-wedding-day sunrise couple session on the beach.

The light at sunrise was perfect, and so was the weather. It was my first morning on the island, and the temperature felt so warm to me. The water wasn’t even cold! Armani and Paris’s outfits perfectly complemented the ocean background. Ultimately, we captured some sweet, intimate moments before the day started.

Later, I met Taylor and Penny at the wedding venue. These two stellar planners incorporated just the right amount of tropical island flair into all aspects of this Oahu Hawaii wedding. Also, Taylor’s beautiful, hand-lettered signage added a perfectly modern touch to the overall aesthetic. Paris and Armani had a lovely ceremony and then, after, took a private moment to exchange their vows. Then came the party! Lastly, they wrapped up the night with a super fun bubble-gun send-off that made for some fantastic photos!

All in all, it was so much fun to work with these people who are practically family! In addition to Paris and Armani’s wedding, we also planned a styled elopement shoot later on this same Oahu trip. If you want to book your own Oahu Hawaii wedding or couple session, please inquire here! I honestly love working on the Hawaiian Islands and cannot wait until I get to do it again!
