Kaiya & Drew’s Washington sunset engagement session!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: It’s always extra fun when I get to photograph people who I know from my personal life. And this was one of those special sessions. Drew and I met back in high school and shared some mutual friends when I worked at Metropolitan Market. But it was actually his fiancé, Kaiya, who initially reached out and inquired about their wedding. A dream elopement booking in Greece!

One of the best things about shooting engagement photos for my wedding and elopement clients is the chance to spend time together before the big day. This Washington sunset engagement session was my first time meeting Kaiya, so getting to know her in person was fun. I learned that we graduated the same year, and she went to high school right around the corner from where I grew up. Such a small world!

Kaiya and Drew opted for a half-film, half-digital photography session, which ultimately turned out so well. We shot at sunset in North Bend, WA. The field at the base of Mount Si was full of these yellow wildflowers that were so pretty. I had them running around, and they were so sweet and cute together. Then, we finished off the session with a fun champagne pop.

All in all, this Washington sunset engagement session was so much fun. And working on this shoot got me so so excited about Drew and Kaiya’s wedding in Greece!
