A gorgeous, vintage-inspired luxury Arizona elopement shoot!
I first got the idea to plan this shoot when I was booked for an intimate wedding in Arizona. Since I love shooting in this area, I knew I had to take full advantage of the trip. So, I decided to do a lux, AZ, styled shoot while I was there!
I already knew this cute couple through their virtual assisting business, Aebly. And Jordan and Conner really made the perfect models for this elopement session. Actually, their vintage Mercedes ended up being my main inspiration for this luxury photoshoot. I love it when couples include vintage cars in their weddings and elopements. They add so much to the timeless and romantic feel of the photos. So, I knew I had to make Jordan and Conner’s car a central feature of the shoot.
At first, I was going to work with a local planner, but those plans fell through. So, I had no choice but to step into the planner role if I still wanted to make this luxury Arizona elopement shoot happen! Luckily, I had a good idea of where to start.
I worked with Lovely Bride Phoenix on a Zion National Park bridal session a few years ago, so I contacted them about the dress. Then, I quickly reached out to Taylor of Honest Calligraphy about the paper goods. I’ve worked with her many times, most recently on a Hawaiian island elopement. So, I knew her work would be perfect for this elegant, vintage-styled shoot. After that, I found the rest of my vendors online, and they all did such a fantastic job! Lastly, I grabbed all the food and wine from Trader Joe’s, and we were ready for the shoot.
These stylings were all about creating those luxury, vintage vibes. I wanted to keep things as intimate and minimal as possible while capturing all the beauty and romance that should go with an elopement. We did a lot of fun film photography. And I especially loved the flash photos with the cake. The florals, dress, cake, and car came together perfectly to give these photos that high-end, intimate feel I was looking for!
This was the first shoot I’ve ever worked on where I’ve also done all the organizing and styling. Overall, I am thrilled with how it turned out! Even though I loved planning this luxury Arizona elopement shoot, I also gained a whole new respect for the work planners do. Planning is hard and definitely not for the faint of heart!
Hiring a planner is a must for weddings and elopements if you want everything to run smoothly and come together just as you’ve imagined. And I’d love to be the photographer who captures it all! Inquire here about your intimate wedding or elopement.
