Palm Springs Couple Session

Anna + Patrick’s Palm Springs couple session!

Just like Joanna from my Phoenix, Arizona couple session, Anna is someone that I connected with through Instagram. We’d been following each other for a while before this shoot but had never gotten the opportunity to meet in person. As a full-time model specializing in freelance bridal modeling, Anna is a part of the wedding photography world I live in. We’ve wanted to work together for quite some time, so I was thrilled when she reached out to me about doing this iconic Palm Springs couple session!

Anna booked me with my bucket list deal when she was already planning to be in Palm Springs to model at a photography workshop. Since I really wanted to do an iconic Palm Springs windmill shoot, I had Palm Springs on my list of dream photoshoot locations. Whenever you book me for a couple or engagement session at one of these destinations, you pay only my travel fees. So, by booking me through my bucket list deal, Anna and Patrick got their photoshoot with no session fee!

Since I hadn’t been to Palm Springs in a long time, my mom and I went together and made a girls’ trip of it. It’s always more fun when I get to travel for work with people who are important to me. We explored Palm Springs and had a great time. We also wandered around in Joshua Tree National Park since my mom had never been.

On the day of Anna and Patrick’s Palm Springs couple session, I went and scouted out a good spot. I wanted to make sure I found pretty areas surrounded by windmills for this shoot. While most of the windmills are just along the side of the road, some have fences around them, and we wanted to make sure and avoid those. Anna had her hair and makeup done in San Diego before she and Patrick drove to Palm Springs for their photos. Her hair turned out stunning, as it always does for her shoots.

To start, we got some beautiful, romantic photos with Anna in a flowy white dress and Patrick in classic neutrals. Then, they changed into simple white t’s and denim so we could get fun, casual shots. I captured some more cute couples’ poses and then finished the shoot with some messy, blurry photos at twilight, which is my favorite thing to do for sessions like this one.

These two are such a gorgeous couple. We clicked instantly and had a lot of fun together. Anna and Patrick’s Palm Springs couple session was a joy to work on!
