Courtney + Alex’s Coeur D’Alene Wedding!

This lovely Seattle couple decided on an intimate, autumn wedding in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, and it turned out beautifully. I had never been to Coeur D’Alene before, and I fell in love! It’s such a small, charming town. There are so many good places to eat and go for walks around the lake. When we visited, the trees were all changing color for the fall. Those golden leaves in the afternoon sunlight added so much to Courtney and Alex’s photos. 

The venue for this Coeur D’Alene wedding was a beautiful, historic, boutique hotel. The Blackwell Hotel started out as a grand family home. Awesomely, love inspired the initial building of this, now, wedding venue. Back in 1904, it was commissioned by a father as a wedding gift to his son and his son’s bride. Courtney and Alex had their ceremony in the hotel’s back garden and said their vows in front of the gazebo. All the fall colors made it extra special. 

It was a very intimate wedding day. Courtney and Alex only had a few guests, so they kept everything very simple and relaxed. All the details of their wedding really embraced the autumn season, from the bride’s beautiful gown to the neutral fall-inspired florals. After they said, “I do,” we snagged some family photos with the couple’s very sweet guests. Then, the couple cut the cake and did toasts inside the hotel before we headed back outside for their autumn couple session. 

We walked around the grounds and found a bunch of really cool spots to shoot. Some of my favorite shots from this couple shoot were the ones where Courtney and Alex posed with their super well-behaved pups. And, of course, we had to get some photos in front of the hotel with that beautiful front porch and all the yellow, fall leaves overhead. So pretty!

Once we finished up their photos, Courtney, Alex, and the family had a reception dinner at a local restaurant. This Coeur D’Alene wedding was charming and perfect for the couple. I have to get back to Coeur D’Alene in the fall!
