Bella and Ezra’s day was full of heart from beginning to end. From the moment I first photographed their engagement session in Laguna, I knew their wedding would feel deeply intentional. However, nothing could have prepared me for just how meaningful their San Clemente beach wedding would become.
They are both pastors’ kids, and because of that shared faith background, there was an immediate sense of connection. Ezra is also a musician, which gave us even more common ground. From the beginning, they were warm, thoughtful, and genuinely kind. That foundation shaped the entire wedding experience.
Set along the San Clemente shore, their celebration felt like a true Southern California dream.
The Ole Hanson Beach Club is one of those venues that instantly transports you. Perched above the Pacific Ocean, the ceremony lawn offers an unobstructed ocean view framed by swaying palm trees. Because the building is historic, the white stucco walls and hand-painted tiles add depth and character without overwhelming the natural setting.
Although there are many locations for beach weddings throughout Orange County, this oceanfront venue feels distinct. It carries a sense of history while still feeling bright and coastal. As ocean breezes moved through the ceremony space, guests sat overlooking the water in what felt like one of the most peaceful, coastal, outdoor weddings ever.
The ceremony overlooked the water, and that natural coastal backdrop made everything feel cinematic yet effortless.
Two weeks before the wedding, Bella received devastating news. Her wedding dress had been ruined during final preparation. When she told me during our consultation call, she was understandably overwhelmed. So instead of panicking, we locked in and found a solution.
Because I had previously worked with Taylar Made Dresses, I reached out immediately. Although Taylar typically reserves her gowns for styled shoots, she stepped in and made an exception. As a result, Bella walked down the aisle in a stunning gown that fit her perfectly.
To this day, we still laugh about it. In fact, her mom even mentioned it in her toast. Wendy later left the kindest review, sharing that booking me was one of the best decisions they made. Moments like that are never taken lightly.
Their ceremony was heartfelt and deeply personal. Because they share a strong faith foundation, the words spoken carried weight and sincerity. Ezra’s reaction during their first look was one of my favorite moments of the day. There is something powerful about capturing that first expression in real time.
Although the setting was grand, the ceremony itself felt intimate. Family and friends sat close together, fully present. As they exchanged vows overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the entire space felt quiet and reverent.
This is what makes intimate ceremonies so powerful. They allow the focus to remain exactly where it belongs.
After the reception began, we stepped away briefly for sunset portraits. When you can get beach access during golden hour, it changes everything. The light softens, the sky opens up, and the ocean view becomes even more dimensional.
Bella’s gown moved beautifully against the shoreline. Meanwhile, Ezra’s classic black tux grounded the imagery in timeless contrast. Because the beach was calm and open, we were able to create portraits that felt both editorial and authentic.
These are the kinds of images that define a San Clemente beach wedding. They feel nostalgic, relaxed, and deeply connected to place.
The reception space at Ole Hanson Beach Club carried a relaxed atmosphere while still feeling elevated. Thoughtful details like green grapes woven into the tablescapes, candlelight, and elegant florals added dimension without distraction. Their wedding cake was sculptural and minimal, which complemented the soft coastal palette.
Later in the evening, Bella changed into a modern second dress for the party and exit. As the DJ kept the energy high, the dance floor filled quickly. The joy in the room was tangible.
Because of the thoughtful event planning by Joy n’ Company, every transition felt seamless. From cocktail hour to the final dance, the entire wedding experience felt cohesive and intentional.
If you are dreaming of a San Clemente beach wedding that blends ocean views with historic charm, Ole Hanson Beach Club is truly special. It offers the beauty of beach weddings without sacrificing architectural character. In addition, its location along the Pacific Ocean creates a setting that feels both iconic and personal.
