Emma and David’s day was the definition of quiet intention. From the very beginning, their wedding was about choosing meaning over scale, and connection over expectation. Rather than hosting a large event, they created an intimate European garden wedding that felt deeply personal, relaxed, and rooted in authenticity.
Set at Lakewold Gardens, around an elegant European garden house, their celebration felt like stepping into a hidden world. Although the venue is located in Washington, it carries an unmistakable old-world charm that feels historic and romantic. Because Emma and David trusted me completely, the day unfolded naturally. We allowed space for genuine emotion, soft moments, and imagery that feels timeless.
Their wedding was small, heartfelt, and beautifully understated. Their invitation suite was even designed by Emma’s cousin, Leah of Enora Creative Co. All in all, the day perfectly reflected who these two are as a couple.
Lakewold Gardens is one of those venues that feels like a secret. Tucked away and surrounded by lush greenery, it evokes the feeling of a European garden house rather than a typical Pacific Northwest venue. Because of that, it was the perfect backdrop for an intimate garden wedding that leaned into elegance without excess.
The historic buildings, manicured outdoor gardens, and brick pathways created a setting that felt layered and cinematic. In my opinion, it’s on par with some Europe wedding venues without the grueling international travel. Natural light filtered through the trees, softening the space and giving the entire day a romantic glow. Although the estate sits just outside the Seattle area, it feels worlds away, which allowed Emma and David to fully settle into the moment.
Every corner of the property offered a sense of calm, making it easy to move through the day without feeling rushed.
Originally, Emma had dreamed of eloping. However, when family dynamics made that difficult, she and David chose a middle ground that honored both their relationship and their loved ones. An intimate wedding allowed them to celebrate with only their closest friends and family while still creating a meaningful wedding day.
Because the guest count was small, the focus stayed on connection. They were able to spend time with everyone present, linger in moments that mattered, and move through the day at an unhurried pace. Their ceremony was quiet and deeply emotional, which made every expression feel more powerful.
This approach created space for real presence, and that intentionality is visible in every image from the day.
Before the ceremony, Emma and David shared a first touch in the gardens. Standing back to back, they read their vows privately, grounding themselves in the meaning of the commitment they were about to make. This quiet moment set the tone for the rest of the day.
When Emma walked down the aisle, David’s reaction said everything. While private first looks are beautiful, there is something uniquely emotional about seeing that moment unfold during the ceremony itself. Capturing his expression as he first saw her was one of the most meaningful parts of the day.
The ceremony was small, heartfelt, and deeply sincere, allowing emotion to lead rather than spectacle.
After the ceremony, the gardens became the backdrop for romantic, cinematic portraits that still felt true to Emma and David’s relationship. The layered greens of the hedgerows contrasted beautifully with the weathered brick pathways, adding depth and texture to every frame.
Emma’s strapless satin gown and cathedral-length lace-edged veil felt timeless against the historic setting. Because the light remained soft and natural, the portraits carried an effortless elegance rather than feeling overly styled.
These moments felt less like posing and more like documenting two people completely at ease with one another.
From the invitation suite designed by Enora Creative Co to the florals climbing organically from their arrangements, every detail was chosen with care. The garden aesthetic stayed consistent throughout the day, reinforcing the sense of quiet luxury.
The understated dinner tablescape featured layered textures, soft light, and natural ambiance created by the trees overhead. Because the design was intentional yet minimal, nothing felt overwhelming or out of place.
These thoughtful choices allowed the wedding to feel cohesive, refined, and deeply personal.
