European-Inspired Wedding Editorial | Castlecore Inspo Shoot

May 27, 2025

When I first saw the design concept for this European-inspired wedding editorial, I immediately knew I needed to be part of it. Every detail was filled with intention and artistry. From the stone walls and delicate florals to the corseted bridal gown and layered tablescape, altogether the vision was stunning.

While this editorial took place in Utah, the final gallery felt like we were whisked away to a European villa somewhere in the countryside of France or Italy. I’m still not over it. So, here’s a closer look at the details that made this shoot one of the most memorable creative experiences I’ve been a part of.

Why I Love Editorials + Why They Matter

As a wedding photographer, styled shoots give me space to grow my creativity and try something new without the pressure of a real wedding day. They’re a chance to explore new angles, techniques, and aesthetics that I can later bring into real client work.

This Europeaninspired wedding editorial was especially meaningful because of the collaboration behind it. I’d followed the planner and stylist for a long time and couldn’t wait to work alongside her vision. The result was stunning. So many people even messaged me on Instagram thinking it was a real European wedding—and honestly, that’s the magic of a well-designed editorial (or an intentionally curated real-life wedding).

If you want to see how I bring this kind of creative energy into real wedding galleries, you can explore more about my approach on my wedding photography info page.

Dreaming of a European Wedding (Closer to Home)

You don’t have to fly across the world to get that particularly romantic, old world charm. There are locations right here in the States, like this one in Utah, that absolutely serve up European wedding energy. From the rustic stone walls to the elegant lace and twine textures, every detail felt like something straight out of a styled European destination wedding.

That’s the beauty of leaning into your personal vision. Whether old world wedding themes inspired you or you want something more modern, you can design a wedding aesthetic that’s uniquely yours—especially with the help of a great wedding planner. This shoot is such a great reminder of the artistry that becomes possible when vendors share a vision.

Layers, Textures, and Dramatic Romance in a EuropeanInspired Wedding Editorial

One of my favorite details from the day was the tablescape. The team at Stay Co layered textured fabrics, medieval castle-inspired seating, and simple florals in a way that felt like we were dining alfresco in a romantic courtyard. The gown, handmade by Immoral London, was another showstopper. Between the dramatic bodice, fitted corset, and exaggerated ruching around the hips, it was a total dream.

The florals by Merci Floral also added another layer of softness and movement, grounding everything in an organic elegance. All in all, the entire shoot felt like a modern fairytale.

Bringing the Vision to Life Through a EuropeanInspired Wedding Editorial

The best part of a shoot like this is watching each vendor shine in their lane. From Lustr Creative’s sculptural cake design to the curated textiles from Stay Co, every element added to the visual storytelling. This editorial also reaffirmed how essential planners and designers are—especially if you want a seamless, artistic, and elevated result on your wedding day.
