Julia + Phillip’s Seattle Washington summer wedding!

This wedding came to me through one of my close friends, Olesya, a relative of the groom, Phillip. Olesya and I first connected through photography, and I’ve even had the chance to work with her one-on-one in a business mentoring session. I also shoot family photos for her a few times a year. Whenever I think of all the fantastic friendships this career has brought into my life, I am so grateful! 

Since I know Phillip means so much to Olesya, I felt so honored when she asked me to photograph his wedding! Phillip and Julia are such a sweet, young couple. And it was fun to work so closely with Olesya, my main point of contact for this Seattle Washington summer wedding. Fun fact: Julia is Canadian, so these two spent most of their relationship in Vancouver until they got married and Julia could move to the US!

We started this wedding day shooting in a field in North Bend, WA, for Julia and Phillip’s first look. Then, we headed to the venue for their bridal party photos, some details shots, and a few last-minute getting-ready photos. Thankfully, the beautiful, garden-like venue had just the right amount of shade for a summer wedding. Julia and Phillip also chose to add some film to their wedding photography package. Overall, I love the aesthetic and nostalgia of film photography, and the shots from this day came out so well!

 After the ceremony, the reception was in a tent, complete with my personal favorite detail of the day: a coffee cart. I loved all the Slavic food and the cultural wedding traditions, including singing and toasts throughout the reception. Ultimately, it was such a special day, topped off with a sparkler exit.

One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is watching my clients and their families grow and evolve. I am honored every time I get to stand by them and capture all the big moments in their lives. Eventually, they don’t feel like clients anymore because they have become true friends. And I would love to start that kind of relationship with you!
