An intimate Cannon Beach elopement content day!
I loved getting to work with Gather with Mimi on this styled shoot. She and I have planned several shoots together, and they always turn out so beautifully. So, of course, this relaxed, elegant content day in Cannon Beach, Oregon, was no exception!
After the Seattle garden party content day I hosted with Mimi’s help back in May, we both wanted to put together a much smaller and more simply planned shoot. So, we got to work on this Cannon Beach elopement session. Immediately, we knew we had to get Lea of Enora Creative Co. to create some custom stationery for the shoot. And I’m so glad she jumped on board because photographing her flat lay was one of my favorite parts of the day.
Mimi, Lea, and I drove down to Oregon together. We decided to drive there and back on the same day, and it was such a fun little girls’ trip! Plus, we all got to stretch some extra creative muscles on this shoot. Because we wanted to keep things as simple as possible, we decided to keep the vendors list small. So, I volunteered to bake the cake and do the bride’s hair, and Mimi put together the florals. I definitely stepped outside my comfort zone for this shoot, but it was a lot of fun!
Something else that made this Cannon Beach elopement session extra relaxed and enjoyable was that I’d already had the chance to work with almost everyone involved. The two photographers who attended this content day also attended my last content day in Seattle. And I’d photographed the model couple, Kirsten and Sam, during their snowy couple session in Snoqualmie. It was fantastic to work with all of them again.
Sam and Kirsten stayed overnight in Cannon Beach, so we used their hotel room for the getting ready photos. Their balcony overlooked the beach, so of course, we took some shots out there, too. Then, we headed to the beach, and we photographers took turns shooting the tablescape, flat lay, cake, staged vow exchange, and sunset couples photos.
I always love working with Lea and Mimi. Overall, this content day was everything I hoped it would be. From the relaxed setting to the simplicity of the planning to the stunning location, this shoot was so much fun. If you’re a soon-to-be bride inspired by this session, I’d love to capture your intimate elopement or aesthetic wedding. You can learn more about my process here.
