White Chapel Fairhope Alabama Wedding

Lilli + Josh’s Fairhope Alabama wedding!

I had never heard of Fairhope, Alabama, before Lilli inquired, but I fell in love as soon as I started researching this charming southern town! It didn’t take me long to realize a friend of mine has family living in that area. So, of course, I told her how much I adored the city. She confirmed that it’s just as dreamy in person.

Chris and I flew into Pensacola, Florida, then drove about an hour to Fairhope. We arrived to find a picture-perfect Hallmark movie town! It was around Christmastime, so the city was extra beautiful.

Lilli and Josh’s ceremony was at a historic white chapel, and the reception was in town. Overall, this wedding was so fun and full of love! All the vendors I got to work with were so amazing. Since Lilli is also a wedding photographer, she knew exactly what she wanted. So, that made the day even easier. It’s always great to work with brides who understand how everything works!

The neutral vintage aesthetics of this wedding were perfect. All the lace and antique touches came together beautifully. The bride and groom even rented a vintage car for bridal photos and their send-off. All in all, it was a lovely wedding to shoot!

After that, Chris and I spent the next day exploring and looking at all the dreamy houses in Fairhope. As we drove around, we realized New Orleans was just a few hours from where we were. Chris and I have always talked about going to New Orleans someday like it was a dream for the distant future. But we never considered how close we’d be while shooting this Fairhope Alabama wedding!

Somehow, we managed to push our flights, book a hotel, and move around our schedules at the last minute. So, we got to stay an extra day and explore New Orleans! We ate some of the best food and listened to jazz music in the streets. Honestly, the whole day was such a dream.

We drove back to Pensacola the next day to catch our flight home. On the way, we stopped in Fairhope again to grab coffee at my favorite spot. But, when we got to the airport, we found out a storm was coming in, and our flight was delayed by a whole day. So, we stayed in Pensacola for the night before we finally flew home.

While Chris and I had never really thought about traveling to the South before, this trip had us falling entirely in love. The perfect December weather just made it even better. Now, we can’t wait to head back to the South and explore more states! If you’re the adventurous type, check out my travel bucket list for a discounted session.
