Tacoma Senior Session

Lexi’s stunning Tacoma senior session!

Lexi and I happened to connect through our moms. My mom worked with Lexi’s mom for a long time, and Lexi’s mom loves my work. So after Lexi and her mom looked at some of my photos together, they reached out and asked if I would do Lexi’s Tacoma senior session. Of course, I said yes!

You may not know this, but shooting senior sessions and portraits is how I got started in photography. For quite a while, I specialized in these types of sessions. Even now, I still like to fit some senior sessions into my shooting schedule when I can. It’s a fun change of pace and reminds me of how much my business and photography have changed and grown over the years.

Even though I now work primarily in wedding and couple’s photography, my senior portrait shoots are still available. Being a senior can be so bittersweet, with so many things changing all at once. So, I love to help soon-to-be graduates take a moment to pause, celebrate their accomplishments, and preserve some memories during that time of transition.

For Lexi’s Tacoma senior session, we used three different locations and did a few outfit changes. Lexi wanted her photo session in really natural surroundings, so we chose to shoot in the woods at Point Defiance, in the fields at Fort Steilacoom and on the beach at Chamber’s Bay. Lexi chose fabulous, softly colored dresses that worked great in our locations. And, of course, we had to get some photos in her cheer uniform.

It’s always special when I get the opportunity to take photos for people that I know personally. This Tacoma senior session for Lexi was no exception. Lexi and I worked together to capture some beautiful, natural portraits where she looked comfortable and totally at ease in front of the camera. Our moms even came along and talked and hung out while we took photos. All in all, this was a lovely session to work on.
